The Challenge
The problem was two-fold: the two offices were not connected and each office needed access to each other's data. There were seperate servers residing in each office which housed each location's data.
The two servers sychronized their data weekly but this proved to be problematic. The sycronization was performed weekly and the tapes were physically shipped to the LA office. The data was not available in real time and the sychronizations were costly, time-consuming and often produced errors. There were IT employees in each office.
The Recommendation
InSync recommended, designed and integrated a Citrix Solution which included connecting the two sites using frame relay which allowed real-time sharing of data and remote print capabilities. All server management, programs, and data were centrally located in their corporate office in Los Angeles which dramatically lowered their IT costs and overhead.
Besides connecting their remote sites, the PR firm also utilizes Citrix technology to supply office automation & business software to each desktop, allowing centralized management of all IT assets, thus eliminating costly overhead by reducing staff.
InSync recently completed a hardware and Citrix software upgrade. Our engineers upgraded their older Novell server to a Dell PowerEdge Windows Server. InSync continues to provide ongoing network integration, maintenance & support to their internal IT staff, as needed.
